One man was injured after crashing down an embankment and overturning on Interstate 24 northwest of Nashville during the Tuesday morning commute.
Witnesses told police the driver left Interstate 24 west of the New Hope Road exit like he was taking an exit ramp, drove down a steep embankment and flipped his truck.
The victim was taken to TriStar Skyline Medical Center with serious injuries.
Eastbound traffic into Nashville from the Montgomery County area was backed up for several miles before one lane of I-24 was reopened.
Police are investigating the cause of the accident. No other vehicles were involved.
