Brevard County,FL : Bicyclist, 65, hit and killed in Brevard County on June, Tuesday 6th 2017

A 65-year-old bicyclist was struck and killed Tuesday in Brevard County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

A 26-year-old woman was driving her four-door Jaguar westbound on State Road 520 in the center lane at about 11:55 a.m. near the intersection of Newfound Harbor Drive.

The bicyclist, from Merritt Island, was westbound on State Road 520 in the marked bike lane next to the right shoulder.

According to witnesses, the Jaguar attempted to change lanes into the right lane. As the driver changed lanes, the car traveled into the bike lane and struck the back of the bicyclist.

The bicyclist was transported to Cape Canaveral Hospital, where he died.

The crash remains under investigation and charges are pending, troopers said.
