Huntsville, AR : One person died when vehicle hits school bus on U.S. 412 in Madison County on Monday morning, Sep 21, 2015

Arkansas State Police say one person was killed Monday morning when a vehicle hit a school bus in Madison County.

Lt. John Overman said it was unclear if the bus was moving or stopped when a vehicle hit it from behind shortly before 8 a.m. on U.S. 412 in Huntsville. Both vehicles were traveling east.

There were no preliminary reports of injuries to anyone on the bus, Overman said, but one passenger in the other vehicle was killed. The driver of that vehicle and a second passenger were being treated, but the extent of their injuries was unclear.

Overman said there were some children on the bus at the time, but their ages weren't known.

The collision remains under investigation.
