Mobile County, AL: I-10 eastbound could reopen within the hour on Wednesday, August 5th 2015

Interstate 10 eastbound just past the Alabama state line has been shut down for hours as emergency crews work to clean up a hazmat incident just east of the Grand Bay exit.Mobile Fire-Rescue spokesman Steve Huffman said a tanker truck carrying nitrobenzene overturned on the side of the interstate near mile marker four.He said less than five gallons of the liquid leaked from the truck.Mississippi Highway Patrol spokesman Cpl. Benjamin Seibert said Alabama authorities expect to have the scene cleared within the hour, but traffic on the interstate could stay backed up for several hours.Seibert said MHP troopers are diverting I-10 traffic to Highway 90 at
Highway 63 and the Franklin Creek Road exit.Seibert said traffic is also backing up on Hwy. 90. Officials ask that drivers avoid I-10 and Hwy.90 eastbound if at all
possible.Huffman said the driver of the truck suffered only minor injuries, and the truck was the only vehicle involved in the wreck.
