Yellowstone County officials have released the name of a 47-year-old man who died when his sport utility vehicle struck a tree in Laurel. Coroner Lt. Bill Jones tells The Billings Gazette that David E. Plattner of Billings died in the crash at about 7 p.m. Monday. Investigators are still trying to determine what caused Plattner to veer off the road. Jones says an autopsy did not uncover any medical reasons.
