Frederick, MD : Man injured in single-vehicle crash near Thurmont on Tuesday, December 12th 2016

Maryland State Police troopers were investigating a single-vehicle crash on Sabillasville Road near Thurmont on Tuesday night, according to Cpl. Jerimy Tindal.

Ted Anthony Lopes, the driver, was taken by helicopter to Meritus Medical Center near Hagerstown, Tindal said. Lopes' age and hometown were not available.

Rescue workers had to remove Lopes from his vehicle, which crashed and went down an embankment on the road.

Tindal did not have any other information on the driver or the cause of the crash. Troopers were still investigating as of 10:45 p.m.
