Jefferson Twp, OH : Two people hurt in Jefferson Twp. crash on Thursday, September 4, 2014
Two people were injured this afternoon when a car went off the road and struck a tree.
Crews were called at 3:41 p.m. to Germantown Pike (Ohio 4), about 1,200 feet north of Dayton Farmersville Road, on the report of a crash.
A woman driving a tan 1998 Buick Regal was traveling south on Ohio 4 when she lost control and went off the right side of the road. The vehicle nearly struck a guardrail, went down into a culvert and struck a tree, according to a news release from the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office.
The driver and a front seat passenger were taken to the hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening. A 1-year-old child in the back seat was properly secured in a child safety seat and was not hurt, according to deputies.
The driver was cited for failure to maintain reasonable control of the vehicle.
Family members said there was something wrong with the car, which they said caused the woman to veer into the trees.
