NEWBERRY, SC : One dead following motorcycle crash involving truck in Newberry Co on Monday, 24th October 2016

A driver is dead following a crash involving a motorcycle in Newberry County Monday night, troopers report.

A 21-year-old male motorcycle driver from Prosperity was driving east on US Highway 76 when a truck that was stopped at a stop sign headed north on 67 and the two vehicles collided at the intersection, troopers said.

The crash occurred at 9:37 p.m.

The motorcycle driver was wearing a helmet and ejected from his vehicle where he died on scene, according to the report. The victim was identified as 21-year-old Clayton David Spradling of Prosperity.

The 19-year-old driver of the truck was wearing a seat belt and not hurt, The 19-year-old passenger in the car was also wearing a seat belt and not hurt.

The crash is under investigation.
