Lehi, UT :One dead and one hurt in crash between FrontRunner, vehicle in Lehi on Saturday, June 27th 2015

A woman died and a man was flown from a crash between his pickup and a FrontRunner train Saturday. The crash occurred about 6:20 p.m. Saturday near 500 West and 300 North in Lehi, after the truck got caught on the tracks between the railroad crossing arms as they came down, Utah Transit Authority spokesman Remi Barron said.
"He tried to cross the tracks as the arms were coming down," Barron said. "Our arms were operating properly… but he may have become confused and stopped on the tracks."The train hit the passenger side of the truck, Barron said. The passenger, a 72-year-old woman, was flown to the hospital where she later died. Her name has not yet been released. The man, who is 83 years old, was flown to Utah Valley Regional Medical Center in "extremely critical condition," said Lehi police Sgt. Bill Loveridge.Barron wanted to remind the public that the railroad crossing arms are designed to break away, so if one comes down in front of your car, "you should keep going and not stop," he said. While officers investigated the crash, buses moved passengers between the Lehi and American Fork stations.
