Pownal, VT : Pownal man seriously injured in a single-vehicle crash Route 7 on Tuesday October 13 2015

Police are investigating a single-vehicle crash that seriously injured a local man Tuesday.
John Russell, 33, of Pownal, was taken to Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington and then to Albany Medical Center in New York.
Sgt. Lloyd Dean of the Bennington County Sheriff’s Department, said Russell was driving a Ford Focus north on Route 7 when he lost control of the car near Pownal Self-Storage.
The car spun and hit a utility pole, causing the car to rotate 180 degrees around the pole, Dean said.
Police were called around 8:15 a.m. Tuesday.
Dean said police didn’t have Russell’s status as of Wednesday afternoon.
