Lehigh Acres ,FL : Three people injured and hospitalized after two pickup trucks crashed at Lehigh Acres intersection on Wednesday morning , April 22 2015

Three people were taken to the hospital after two pickup trucks crashed at a Lehigh Acres intersection Wednesday morning.

The pickup trucks were both heading eastbound on Joel Boulevard near Joel Way when the crash happened.

One of the trucks rolled over, trapping the two elderly occupants, according to a person on scene. Firefighters had to cut out the windshield of the truck to get them out.

The other truck, which had one occupant, ended up slamming into a pole, causing it to snap. The driver was walking around when EMS arrived.

All three people were taken to local hospitals. LCEC is expected to be on scene for some time replacing the damaged power pole, which may cause some traffic issues on Joel Boulevard.
