Shawnee, OK : DUI-related crash knocks out traffic light on Thursday, 5th April 2018

The Shawnee Police Department responded to an automobile accident at the Shawnee Mall Drive and Harrison Street intersection just after 1 a.m. Thursday.

Bodevin Ezell, 19, was driving a vehicle that crashed into a light pole, causing a rollover, resulting in the passenger being transported to OU Medical Center, said Shawnee Police Department Cpl. Vivian Lozano-Stafford.

Ezell was arrested and jailed in the Pottawatomie County Public Safety Center Thursday on complaints of destroying city property, leaving the scene of an accident involving injury and suspicion of DUI. Formal charges have not been filed.

The stoplight at the intersection of Shawnee Mall Drive and Harrison Street remained out of order as of late Thursday afternoon.
