Two people were hurt in a two-vehicle crash Monday morning after one of the cars veered into a building in Southeast Portland, severing a gas line.
The crash happened at around 8:45 a.m. Monday near Southeast 82nd Avenue and Yamhill Street.
According to police, two vehicles collided near the intersection and one of the drivers subsequently crashed into a building.
The driver and passenger of that vehicle were both taken to the hospital; officials said the passenger is in life-threatening condition.
The other driver stayed at the scene and is reportedly cooperating with investigators from Portland Police’s Major Crash Team.
The crash severed a natural gas line, however a police spokesman said crews shut off the line and there is no threat to the neighborhood.
Drivers are encouraged to use 92nd Avenue as an alternate route while crews investigate the crash.
