Two people were hurt in a two-vehicle crash Monday morning after one of the cars veered into a building in Southeast Portland, severing a gas line.

The crash happened at around 8:45 a.m. Monday near Southeast 82nd Avenue and Yamhill Street.

According to police, two vehicles collided near the intersection and one of the drivers subsequently crashed into a building.

The driver and passenger of that vehicle were both taken to the hospital; officials said the passenger is in life-threatening condition.

The other driver stayed at the scene and is reportedly cooperating with investigators from Portland Police’s Major Crash Team.
