A two-vehicle collision in Converse County killed one man and injured five others.

The Wyoming Highway Patrol says the accident occurred about 1 a.m. Friday on state Highway 59, about 30 miles north of Douglas.

The patrol identified the victim as 43-year-old Shane Nett, of Windsor, Colorado.

Investigators say Nett was driving a 2015 Ford Expedition that crossed over the center line and into the southbound lane and collided with an oncoming tractor-trailer. He died at the scene.

Five other passengers in the Expedition, ranging in age from 44 to 7 years old, were all transported by ambulance to Memorial Hospital of Converse County in Douglas. Their injury status was not immediately known.

The crash caused the highway to be closed between Douglas and Wright for about six hours.
