Phoenix, AZ : Gila River police officer, 2nd driver injured in collision in Queen Creek on Friday, March 10th 2017
A Gila River police officer and another driver were taken to hospitals following a collision Friday morning in Queen Creek.
Neither patient had life-threatening injuries, according to Sgt. Joaquin Enriquez, a Maricopa County Sheriff's Office spokesman.
Enriquez said the officer was in a marked police SUV and driving east on Riggs Road when he collided with a pickup truck that was turning left near Power Road.
The driver of the pickup was taken to a hospital almost immediately. Enriquez initially said the officer was unharmed, but he said later that the officer had been taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The roadway is restricted for the investigation.
