Hutchinson, KS : Two Liberal men injured in Seward County rollover crash on Sunday, February 5th 2017

Two Liberal residents were injured Saturday after the vehicle they were riding in rolled in Seward County.

Rodrigo Alvarez, 24, Liberal, was driving a 2008 Volkswagen Jetta west on U.S. 54, about 6.5 miles east of Liberal, when for unknown reasons his vehicle went left of center and entered the south ditch, according to a Kansas Highway Patrol report.

His vehicle then entered a side-skid and tripped in soft dirt, causing it to roll one time and come to a rest upright around 11:52 p.m.

Alvarez and his passenger, Arturo Martinez, 30, Liberal, were sent to Southwest Medical Center with injuries.

They were no longer at the hospital Sunday afternoon, according to hospital officials.

Both men were reportedly wearing their seat belts.
