Chambersburg, PA : Motorcyclist seriously injured in crash in Franklin County on Sunday afternoon, July 31, 2016
Chambersburg, Pennsylvania
A Glen Rock, Pa., man was flown to York Hospital after he was thrown from a motorcycle Sunday afternoon on Little Cove Road in Franklin County, Pennsylvania State Police said.
Brian R. Baltus, 69, was listed in serious condition, a hospital spokeswoman said Monday.
Troopers said Baltus was riding north on Little Cove Road at about 12:30 p.m., when he failed to negotiate a left turn and ran off the right side of the road near Mill Drive.
The motorcycle traveled nearly 150 feet across a stretch of grass before it struck a street sign and a concrete culvert, police said.
Baltus was thrown from the motorcycle and landed in the culvert. Police said the motorcycle, a 2001 Harley-Davidson FXST Softail, came to rest in the northbound lane of Little Cove Road.
The motorcycle was towed from the scene.
