FAIRFIELD, CT : Motorist ticketed for Black Rock Turnpike car crash on Tuesday, October, 10th 2017

A Massachusetts woman was ticketed after an improper lane change caused a car crash and closed a portion of Black Rock Turnpike for more than three hours Tuesday afternoon.
Police said Beverly Breton-Carroll, 60, of Bedford, was driving southbound on Black Rock Turnpike near Samp Mortar Drive, when she moved from the left lane into the right lane. When she did, she hit another southbound car, pushing it onto the sidewalk and into a utility pole. The utility pole snapped at the base, and the other motorist’s vehicle ended up on its side. The driver received just minor injuries, according to police.
Black Rock Turnpike between Samp Mortar and Brookside Drive was closed for repairs to the utility pole. Berton-Carroll was issued an infraction for failure to maintain a proper lane.
