Saint Augustine, FL : Woman and 4-year-old boy killed in I-95 crash on Monday, January 2nd 2017
A 4-year-old boy and a 32-year-old woman from Mississauga, Ontario, are dead after a serious wreck on Interstate 95 northbound near the International Golf Parkway interchange Monday afternoon, authorities say. 32-year-old Nazia Hossain was driving northbound in the inside lane on I-95 in a grey Infinity SUV with three passengers. For unknown reasons, the SUV veered right onto the east shoulder, struck a tree, and overturned around 2 p.m. A 4-year-old boy named Ayaan Haque also died. Traffic was backed up for miles as all lanes headed northbound on I-95 were shut down for an hour. Multiple fire rescue units and St. Johns County sheriff's deputies were on scene and assisting in the investigation. The four people inside the overturned vehicle had to be extricated by emergency responders. Authorities say that the two adult patients were airlifted to local trauma centers are in serious condition. A fourth person was found dead on scene after the accident, fire rescue personnel say.
