An elderly Washington, Mo., man was killed Monday afternoon in a two-vehicle accident in Franklin County.
The Missouri Highway Patrol said that Raymond E. Kastendieck, 90, of Washington, was driving a Dodge Stratus on Highway 47 at Country Club Lane at about 12:50 p.m. when the car went off the road and hit a guardrail.
The car then went across the highway and into the path of a tractor-trailer. The front of the tractor-trailer hit the passenger side of the car and the car then went off the road and down an embankment.
Kastendieck was pronounced dead at the scene. He was not wearing a seat belt, the patrol said.
