A city transit bus crashed into a shop in Warwick on Monday night.
The crash caused damage to the entire building at around 7 p.m. on Route 1.
The driver suffered serious injuries, according to Warwick's mayor. Two of the passengers were also injured, according to the mayor.
Officials are trying to figure out whether another person walked away uninjured.
Two workers who were inside the shop when the bus crashed. The workers were not hurt.
"We saw the bus coming towards our direction, it was kind of surreal, it was like, 'What's going on, is this guy going to stop?' And at the point where we realized it wasn't stopping we kind of heard the horn and just dived for our lives, literally," Manuel Rosario said.
The mayor said the driver and two passengers were taken to the hospital. There may have been a third passenger who walked away unharmed.
Officials are investigating the cause of the crash. They are now looking into the possibility that the bus driver had some sort of medical issue that caused him to lose control.
Crews pulled the bus from the shop but the shop collapsed.
