BULLHEAD CITY, AZ : Motorcyclist escapes serious injury in crash on February, Saturday 10th 2018
A man was lucky to escape serious injury after crashing his motorcycle into the side of a vehicle that had failed to yield.
The California motorcyclist had non-life-threatening injuries and was taken by ambulance to Western Arizona Regional Medical Center for precautionary reasons, said Cpl. Sean Watson, Bullhead City Police Department spokesman. No other injuries were reported.
About 2:25 p.m. Friday, a white Ford Taurus, with South Dakota license plates, heading south on Highway 95 turned left into the parking lot in the 2300 block of Highway 95 in front of the motorcycle, Watson said. The driver of the Taurus was cited for failure to yield to oncoming traffic.
“The motorcyclist said he went up onto the windshield,” said Bullhead City Fire Department Battalion Chief Bill Kinsey. “He was not wearing a helmet and he was lucky.”
Watson agreed.
“The type of hit he took, I was expecting much worse injuries,” Watson said.
Northbound traffic on Highway 95 was diverted to the inside lane for about 30 minutes while crews worked to clear the scene.
