Burnsville, MN : fiery crash on I-35W confirmed fatal on Sunday, 23rd October 2022

The Minnesota State Patrol reports that a crash this afternoon on I-35W in Burnsville is now confirmed as fatal.

The single-vehicle crash happened around 4:30 this afternoon.

Authorities say that a Toyota Corolla driven by a 56-year-old man was traveling south on I-35W when it veered into the ditch before striking a sound barrier and starting on fire.

Due to the severity of the crash, the Minnesota Department of Transportation was at the scene assisting the State Patrol with closing the highway.

The road has since reopened.
