Derry Township, PA : Man injured in Derry Township motorcycle crash on Wednesday, 3rd October 2018

A motorcyclist was injured in a two-vehicle accident Wednesday afternoon along Route 217 at the Dogwood Acres mobile home park in Derry Township.

The man, whose identity was not available, was flown to UPMC Presbyterian hospital in Pittsburgh as a result accident at about 5:15 p.m., according to a Westmoreland County Public Safety department supervisor.

Route 217 was closed in the area of the crash while an accident reconstruction team worked at the site, the supervisor said.

State police at Greensburg investigated the crash.

Firefighters from Derry Township, Derry Borough and Bradenville assisted at the scene, said Mark Piantine, Derry Township fire chief.

Additional details were not available Wednesday night.
