Charlotte, NC : Two people injured after a single-vehicle wreck on 6900 Pineville-Matthews Road on Sunday afternoon, November 20, 2016

The driver of the single-vehicle wreck that sent two people to the hospital Sunday afternoon was charged with DWI.

The wreck happened around 6900 Pineville-Matthews Road, also known as Highway 51, just after 12:00 p.m.

William Brown, the driver of the vehicle, suffered minor injuries and was transported to Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center to be treated, according to Charlotte-Mecklenburg police.

Upon his release from the hospital, police said he will also be charged with felony serious injury by motor vehicle.

The passenger of the car is being treated for serious burn injuries at Carolinas Medical Center.

Police believe the crash involved an a truck pulling a trailer that ran off the road and rolled. The truck caught fire and hit a utility pole. The crash caused power lines to fall down and a power outage in the area.
