LAUGHLIN, AZ : Two airlifted after collision on Tuesday, September 12, 2017

Two people were life-flighted to Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas Tuesday afternoon after suffering a head-on collision in the southbound lanes of Casino Drive in Laughlin.

Lt. Harry Fagel, Laughlin Substation commander for Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, both subjects were coherent, but one had to be extricated from his car. Both drivers received significant compound fractures, but are expected to have a full recovery.

The crash, between one New Mexico and one Arizona licensed car, occurred at 1:23 p.m. One car was heading north in the south-bound lane, leading to the collision, Fagel said.

Police closed off two blocks of Casino Drive for about three hours Tuesday afternoon as a result of the crash. There is an ongoing investigation into the accident.
