DEKALB COUNTY, AL : Boaz man killed in wreck near Crossville on Tuesday, 9th April 2024

A 75-year-old Boaz man was killed in a single-vehicle that happened on Tuesday morning.

Mickey E. Echols was critically injured when the 1999 Chevrolet Silverado he was driving left the roadway and struck a culvert. Officials say Echols’ vehicle went airborne and overturned multiple times.

Echols was transported to Marshall Medical Center South where he succumbed to his injures and was pronounced dead.

The crash happened on AL 68 near DeKalb Co. 362, six miles west of Crossville. Troopers with ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division are continuing to investigate.
