TUSCARAWAS TWP, OH : Massillon man dies after collision with truck on Route 172 on Thursday, 25th October 2016

An early morning crash on State Route 172 at Greenside Avenue SW left a 24-year-old Massillon man dead Thursday.

Trevor S. Wilson of Massillon died as a result of the 2:53 a.m. collision, according to a news release from the Ohio Highway Patrol's Canton post.

Troopers believe Wilson was driving a 1999 Chevrolet Malibu north on Greenside and a 46-year-old Orrville man was driving a 2012 Kenworth T470 east on Route 172 when Wilson failed to yield from a stop sign, the release said. The truck struck the car broadside, killing Wilson, who wore no safety belt.

An investigator with the Stark County Coroner's Office pronounced Wilson dead at the scene of the crash, the release said. The truck driver was not injured.

The crash remained under investigation later Thursday morning.
