Motorcyclist and his passenger were injured late Tuesday when they crashed into an elk on Highway 162.
The motorcyclist was believed to be intoxicated and now faces possible charges of DUI and vehicular assault, the Washington State Patrol reports.
State troopers and medics responded to the scene, about five miles east of Orting, at about 10 p.m. Tuesday after receiving reports of a motorcycle crash.
The motorcyclist, a 51-year-old Orting man, and his passenger, a 27-year-old Lake Tapps woman, were found at the scene with injuries. Both were taken to Tacoma General Hospital.
The motorcycle, a blue Honda GL1500I2, was totaled.
