SHARP COUNTY, AR : Former Hartford mayor dies in Arkansas crash on Friday, March 17th 2017

A former Hartford mayor and Van Buren County commissioner died in a car crash Friday night in Arkansas.
Boyd Estes, 78, of Wirth, Ark., formerly of Hartford, was traveling in his 2000 Buick LeSabre when it went off the road in a curve and struck a tree, according to Arkansas State Police.
The single-vehicle crash happened on Arkansas 175 north of Hardy at about 8 p.m. March 17. It was raining at the time of the crash, local news reports said.
Estes was a Van Buren County commissioner in the early 1970s and the mayor of Hartford for one term, starting in 1978.
