Newport, IN : Woman arrested after Vermillion County crash on Tuesday morning, June 7, 2016
An early morning crash in Vermillion County lands a Veedersburg woman behind bars.
It happened Tuesday morning at about 1:00 on State Road 63 on an onramp to I-74.
That’s where police say a passenger car jumped a center divider and came to a rest on its side.
The driver of the car was 53-year-old Jinny Roesch of Veedersburg.
Police noticed a strong odor of alcohol coming from the car.
Police say Roesch refused medical treatment.
When officers gave her a chemical breath test, she blew a .23%. The legal limit in Indiana is .08%.
Roesch was arrested and charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated with a prior offense within five years.
She is currently in the Vermillion County Jail on a $10,000 bond.
