Utica, NY : Two vehicles collide in Utica rollover crash on September 16 2016
A vehicle crash occurred with such force, it took out a street sign Friday morning at the intersection of Holland Avenue and Prospect Street in Utica.
The collision occurred around 8:30 a.m. and one vehicle was left on its side, the other sustained heavy front end damage.
Utica Police Chief Mark Williams said that both parties involved were lucky to have come out of the crash relatively unscathed.
"God was on both of their sides," Williams said.
The crash was caused when one driver failed to notice the stop sign and crashed into the other vehicle, police report. She was uninjured but shaken up and was transported. The other driver was taken to the hospital with a knee injury, Williams said.
The female driver was issued a citation, police said.
Utica police and firefighters were called to the scene, and traffic in the area surrounding both streets was blocked off as emergency personnel processed the scene.
