Knoxville, TN : Robbery suspects crash into car during pursuit on Tuesday, July 8, 2014
Knoxville police are working to track down three men suspected of an armed robbery at an apartment complex in the Fort Sanders neighborhood.
Knoxville Police said the robbery happened at the Grand Forest apartments on Grand Avenue just after 3 pm on Tuesday. The victims watched the suspects take off in a KIA Sedona mini-van, and described the van to police.
A KPD officer spotted the van on Western Avenue near I-40 and began a pursuit, which ended when the van crashed into another vehicle on Summitt Hill Avenue near downtown Knoxville. The 63-year-old driver of the car that was hit was taken to Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center to be treated for her injuries, which weren't thought to be serious.
The men took off on foot into the neighborhood north of Summitt Hill, but were unable to find them.
No one was injured in the robbery.
