McALPIN, GA : Man dies in Saturday night accident on April, Saturday 8th 2017

A Live Oak man died following a one-car accident near McAlpin on Saturday night.

David Dean Manning, 57, was traveling north on U.S. Highway 129 near 99th Lane when his truck left the road while making a lefthand curve around 8 p.m., according to a Florida Highway Patrol report.

The report states Manning overcorrected trying to regain control of his 2007 Chevrolet 1500, crossing both lanes of U.S. 129 while rotating counterclockwise.

The truck went through a ditch on the western side of the highway before flipping over and hitting a barbed-wire fence and tree, according to the report.

The Chevy ended up on its right side in the tree line facing north, the report states.

Manning was pronounced deceased on the scene by Suwannee County Fire Rescue EMS.
