One person was killed in a two-vehicle car crash in northern Kent County Thursday, police say.
The crash happened near the intersection of 14 Mile Road and Wabasis Avenue NE in rural Oakfield Township, west of Greenville.
Investigators believe an eastbound vehicle crossed the center line into oncoming traffic for an unknown reason, according to a Michigan State Police news release.
A passenger inside the eastbound vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver was taken to the hospital in critical condition, MSP said.
The driver of the westbound vehicle was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the release.
It’s unknown if drugs and/or alcohol were factors in the crash, which remains under investigation.
