Man killed when pickup hits log truck in Warren Oregon
A man died and another was injured when their pickup struck the end of a loaded log truck that was turning off Highway 30 near St. Helens Monday morning.
Oregon State Police identified the man killed as 28-year-old Jeffery David Little of Warren.
He was the passenger in a pickup driven by 27-year-old Nicholas Villeneuve of St. Helens that was heading north on the highway about 9:15 a.m. when a log truck in front of it started turning right onto Old Portland Road. During the turn, the end of the log load swung into the pickup's lane, and the pickup struck it, state police said.
Villeneuve was taken to Legacy Emanuel Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, state police said. The driver of the log truck, 54-year-old Ricardo Perez of Bend, was not injured.
No citations were immediately issued.The wreck and subsequent investigation impacted traffic in the area.
