Pasadena, TX : Crash involving law enforcement on April, Thursday 20th 2017
A Waller County Precinct 3 deputy hit a vehicle Thursday morning on the South Loop 610 east.
The deputy had been traveling westbound on the highway around 5:30 a.m., escorting a crane. He moved to the right shoulder of the highway to try to pass the crane near the Broadway Street exit when he hit a disabled vehicle with one person inside, said Victor Senties, spokesman for the Houston Police Department.
The deputy was transported with non life-threatening injuries to Ben Taub Hospital.
The person in the disabled vehicle was not injured.
Local television stations report at least two lanes were blocked on South Loop 610 east after the incident, backing up traffic.
