Baton Rouge, LA : Galliano man killed in wreck in Livingston Parish on Sunday night, June 19, 2016
A Galliano man was killed in a single-car crash near Springfield Sunday night.
Louisiana State Police said Monday that Brian Leonard, 57, was driving south on La. 1037 in a 2004 Buick Century shortly before 6 p.m., when he failed to make a right curve and lost control of his car.
Leonard’s car ran off the right side of the road, struck a culvert and went airborne, striking a tree, Trooper 1st Class Bryan Lee said in a news release.
Leonard, who was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, was ejected from the car, Lee said. The Livingston Parish Coroner’s Office pronounced him dead at the scene.
It is unknown whether impairment was a factor in the crash, Lee said. Troopers took a toxicology sample for analysis.
