BAXTER COUNTY, AR : Suspect crashes vehicle in police chase on Tuesday, December 27th 2016

Baxter County sheriff’s deputies arrested a man for theft and leading police on a chase through counties in two states Tuesday night.

Law enforcement took Mitchell D. Teconchuk, 21, of Mountain Home into custody following a chase that started in Gainesville, Missouri and ended on Highway 201 north in Baxter County.

According to a news release, Teconchuk lead police on a chase at a high rate of speed before they lost sight of the suspect. The suspect wrecked his vehicle on Highway 201 near Baxter County Road 484.

Teconchuk was taken to the Baxter Regional Medical Center and then taken to the Baxter County Detention Center, where he will be charged for the pursuit. He is also being held for Ozark County, where he will face charges related to the thefts.
