RUTLAND, VT : 1 dead in 3-vehicle crash involving 2 cruisers in Route 122 on Friday, 9th August 2019

One person is dead after a Friday night crash involving a Ford Fusion and two police cruisers on Route 122

The driver of the Fusion has not been identified. His badly smashed vehicle ended up off the road, in the woods. The medical examiner’s office responded to the crash, which involved a police cruiser from Rutland and one from Paxton.

Rutland Officer Matthew D. Fenuccio and Paxton Officer Edward Santiago both suffered non-life-threatening injuries, Rutland Police Chief Nicholas A. Monaco confirmed. Cooney, Officer Fenuccio’s police dog (named after the late Rutland Officer Sean Cooney, who died in June 2012), also suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
