Brooksville, FL : 37 year-old man struck, killed in hit and run crash near Broksville on Friday night, January 30, 2015
A pedestrian died in a hit and run crash on County Road 481 near Lake Lindsey Road Friday night.
The vehicle and motorist believed to be involved were located at a McDonald's restaurant in Brooksville a short while later.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, David P. Willson III, 37, of Brooksville, was walking northbound on County Road 481, also known as Snow Memorial Highway, shortly after 9 p.m. Friday. A 1997 Ford F-250 traveling northbound on CR 481 struck Willson near Lake Lindsey Road.
The Ford fled the scene. Wilson suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead on the scene.
At 10:45 p.m. Friday, the Ford F-250 and its occupants were located at the McDonald's at 845 S. Broad St. in Brooksville.
The driver was identified as Benton C. Yost, 66, of Floral City. His two passengers were Sandra L. George, 51, of Zephyrhills, and Howard C. Knudsen, 57, of Brooksville.
Evidence was collected at the scene. Charges are pending at this time.
