KINSLEY, KS : Fatality crash in Edwards County on Tuesday, October 3, 2017
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a fatality crash that occurred at the intersection of Highway 50 and Highway 56 on the west edge of Kinsley on Tuesday.
The crash took place at 10:05 a.m. when, according to the KHP report, a 2015 Ford Van was westbound on Highway 56 at the stop sign for the Highway 56-Highway 50 junction.
The van turned left onto westbound Highway 50 while a 2004 Winnebago was eastbound on Highway 50.
The van struck the Winnebago and was forced into the north ditch while the Winnebago came to rest on the north side of the highway on the shoulder.
The driver of the van, Israel C. Kryston, 41, from Wichita, died from his injuries sustained in the crash.
The driver of the Winnebago, Dale Lavern Gillespie, 73, and passenger Lavonne Jane Gillespie, 74, both from Manteca, California, recieved minor injuries.
The KHP report indicated that all parties involved were wearing their seat belts.
