Solon, OH : Vehicle crashes through wall of Sears in Solon on Wednesday, November 12, 2014
Workers are cleaning up debris Wednesday after an SUV crashed through the wall of Sears Grand in Solon.
Just after noon today, police say an elderly female from Peninsula lost control of her 2002 Lexus SUV in the parking lot of Sears Grand.
She struck the wall of the store in the front of the building entering the store south of the entrance.
Police say the SUV came to rest halfway in the store. No one was in that area of the store at the time of the accident, and the driver was taken to Hillcrest Hospital by Solon Paramedics.
Police say it was not immediately apparent if she suffered injuries.
Her name has not been released pending notification of family.
The vehicle remains at its place of rest until the wall can be inspected and shored before removing it.
The store is closing permanently and has been having a "going out of business" sale for three weeks.
