Snohomish, WA : Two people injured after a three-vehicle crash near the intersection of Westwick Road on Tuesday, Sep 29, 2015
Highway 2 is closed in both directions east of Snohomish after a three-vehicle crash that left two people injured, the Washington State Patrol reports.
State troopers and medics responded to the scene, near the intersection of Westwick Road, at about 8:15 a.m. Tuesday after receiving a report of a serious collision.
A passenger car, pickup truck and box truck were found at the crash scene. The driver of the car had life-threatening injuries and was rushed to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. A passenger in the car had less serious injuries.
A preliminary investigation found that the passenger car was heading east on Highway 2 when it crossed the centerline and slammed head-on into the pickup, which was headed west.
The car then crashed head-on into the box truck.
Highway 2 is now closed in both directions until about 10:30 a.m. during the investigation and cleanup. A detour is in place.
