Anchorage, AK : Bicyclist suffers head injuries in apparent Midtown hit-and-run accident on Wednesday afternoon, November 5, 2014
Anchorage police are investigating a reported hit-and-run collision that left a male bicyclist with head injuries Wednesday afternoon.
APD spokesperson Anita Shell said police were called to the intersection of 16th Avenue and Karluk Street just before 2:45 p.m.
A caller said the bicyclist appeared to be conscious and breathing, but Anchorage Fire Department medics told the caller to conduct CPR. Upon arrival, medics found that the victim was unresponsive and exhibited labored breathing.
“It was a hit-and-run, per AFD at the scene,” Shell said.
The bicyclist was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
