Provo, UT : 18-year-old Lehi man dies in Lindon car crash on Wednesday, September 27th 2017

An 18-year-old Lehi resident died Wednesday night after a car crash on Geneva Road.

According to a press release from the Lindon Police Department, Jacob Broadbent was a passenger in a black Nissan, when the driver “attempted a left-hand turn from 700 North onto northbound Geneva Road at about 7:44 p.m.” The turn was in the line of travel of a westbound Dodge pickup truck, which was unable to stop to avoid the collision.

Broadbent, 18, was wearing his seat belt, but still sustained severe injuries during the accident. He was transported by emergency personnel to Timpanogos Regional Medical Center, where he passed away. Others reported minor injuries.

According to the release, the traffic signal was green for both vehicles, and it does not appear that speed or alcohol played a role in the collision. Lindon police are continuing the investigation at this time. Charges may still be pending.
