Franklin County, OH : 1 dead, 1 injured after head-on crash on US-62 south of Walnut Street in Plain Township on Monday, 24th June 2019

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal crash that happened Monday afternoon on US-62.

The crash happened around 1 p.m. on US-62 south of Walnut Street in Plain Township.


According to the sheriff’s office, a 2006 black Saab 93 was traveling northbound when the vehicle went left of center and struck a 2014 maroon Ford E-series van head-on.The driver of the Saab was taken to Mount Carmel East Hospital where he died. The name of the driver is being withheld pending family notification.

The driver of the Ford was taken to Mount Carmel East Hospital in stable condition.

There is no indication that alcohol or drugs were a factor according to the sheriff’s office. All driver were wearing their seatbelts.

US-62 was closed for several hours but has since reopened.
