BIGFORK, MT : MOTHER KILLED, CHILDREN INJURED IN HEAD-ON CRASH ON U.S. 56 IN LINCOLN COUNTY ON TUESDAY MORNING, MARCH 14, 2017

A two-vehicle crash on U.S. 56 in Lincoln County west of Libby left one person dead and three injured Tuesday morning.

Richard Davidson, 26, of Libby was arrested and will be charged with criminal possession of dangerous drugs and either negligent homicide or vehicular homicide while under the influence, according to Lincoln County Sheriff Roby Bowe.

The head-on collision killed a 45-year-old mother and injured her son and his friend, who were in the car with her, according to Bowe. Both children were taken to the hospital with non-critical injuries.

Bowe said Davidson also sustained minor injuries. Both vehicles were totaled in the accident.

According to Bowe, authorities found drugs during a search of Davidson’s vehicle, but he declined to comment on the type or quantity.
