Troy, AL : Pike County man killed, 1 injured in 3-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 231, south of Troy on Friday morning, January 6, 2017
A Pike County man was killed Friday morning in a three-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 231, three miles south of Troy, according to Alabama state troopers.
Milton Leon Shipman, 78, of Banks was seriously injured when the 2004 Chevrolet Impala he was driving struck a 2002 International 4300 truck and then a 2002 Ford Ranger at around 11:30 a.m.
Shipman was transported to Jackson Hospital in Montgomery where he later died, troopers said.
The driver of the Ford, Melanie Lee Tomsha, 29, of Montgomery, was transported to an unspecified hospital for treatment of her injuries. The driver of the International was not injured.
The crash remains under investigation.
