Monroe, MI : Two victims killed in a multiple-vehicle fatal crash on Friday, July 14, 2017
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office has identified the two victims killed in a multiple-vehicle fatal crash on southbound US-23 north of Summerfield Rd. in Summerfield Township Friday afternoon.
Gladys J. Johnson, 35, of Redford died in the accident along with her 5-year-old daughter, Za-Kira, who was a passenger in the rear seat, deputies said. Johnson was driving a 2010 Hyundai Elantra that was struck in the rear by a 2007 Dodge Ram pickup driven by Todd M. Moyer, 27, of Holt, according to a preliminary investigation. The victims were both pronounced dead at the scene.
The Johnson vehicle was forced into the rear of a 2004 Toyota Solara driven by Chase K. Miller, 20, of Findlay, Ohio. The Moyer vehicle was still in motion and struck the rear of a 2012 Cadillac CTS operated by Micheal E. Huffer, 68, of Troy along with his wife, Patricia, 67, who was in the front passenger seat.
